Lots to update on tonight!
Blog Updates: I added some new pages, and updated one. I’ve added a picture to the About Momma Fins page, I added ‘The Bubble-makers” which is a list of the current residents of Chateau Mike. I added “The Ingredients” which is a list of products that I use in the tank, and “The Menu” which is a list of fish and plant food I use. As requested by my friend David, I also added a page detailing my acclimation process for adding new fish to my tank. Also, a few days ago I discovered how to use widgets so all that stuff on the side is shiny and new (as of a few days ago).
Tank Updates: Lance was doing wonderfully today, he was swimming all over and generally acting healthy and strong so I took the leap and went to the fish store to get some companions.
I picked up two new angels, both veiled, a black named Otto (short for Otello) and a marbled that I have yet to name. When the perfect one comes to me I’ll know it. So far they are both adjusting very well to the tank, but they are hard to photograph as it is hard enough to get a pic of the tank let alone of dark fish…
Lance wasn’t very welcoming to his friends at first. He started nipping at the marbled, but I think it may have been a little bit of investigation and not so much aggressive behavior. I put some food in the tank when the new guys were added and everyone ate and has been peaceful ever since.
Next on the list of new guys for the day…
New Mikes! I adopted 5 new Mikes and they were next in line to be acclimated to the tank. I now have a school of 10.
Finally, I introduce George. George is named after a Pleco I used to have, however, he is (all three of him) an Otocinclus.
It has been a few hours and everyone seems happy and healthy. I also added 2 new plants, another anubias and another amazon sword. I am crossing my fingers for the night!

Thanks Aunt Nancy! I am definitely working my butt off to keep these fish happy and healthy, I spend all of my time working with them it seems! And when I’m not directly working with them, I’m blogging about them =P
